BEGINNER’S LEAGUE

Beginners League provides a structured and supportive framework for riders to develop their skills, build confidence, and progress in the sport of BMX racing. Through dedicated practice, guidance from experienced coaches, and a commitment to continuous improvement, participants can unlock new levels of achievement and enjoyment in their BMX journey.

Basic Skills Acquisition:
Riders start by learning fundamental BMX skills, including bike handling, balance, and basic techniques such as balancing in the gate, taking corners, and navigating obstacles. Emphasis is placed on proper body positioning and bike control to navigate the track safely and efficiently.

Track Familiarization:
Participants become familiar with different features that are a part of all BMX tracks, including obstacles and race lines. They learn how to approach various track elements, such as jumps, corners, and rhythm sections, to maintain speed and momentum.

Progressive Challenges:
The Beginners League introduces progressive challenges and skill-building exercises to help participants expand their capabilities. Riders are encouraged to set personal goals and track their progress as they master new skills and techniques.

Rules and Etiquette:
Riders are educated about USABMX rules, regulations, and racing etiquette to ensure fair and safe competition. Emphasis is placed on sportsmanship, respect for fellow competitors, and adherence to race protocols.

Supportive Environment:
Participants benefit from a supportive and encouraging environment that fosters camaraderie, teamwork, and positive reinforcement. Peer support and mentorship play a crucial role in motivating riders to push their limits and achieve their goals. Deseret Peak BMX is proud to have three coaches dedicated to Beginners League, with a combined 30+ years racing and coaching experience.

Continued Learning and Growth:
Skill development is an ongoing process, and participants are encouraged to continue learning and refining their abilities beyond the Beginners League. Opportunities for further training, clinics, and workshops are available to help riders continue their progression and reach their full potential in BMX racing.
